About Jon Aizlewood

The Lowdown
Here’s a little about me: I moved to Brighton, UK in April 2007 to be with my fiancée wife*. I have 6+ years experience in the online marketing environment, with focus on most multi-channel marketing tactics including email marketing & design, SEM (search engine marketing), SEO (search engine optimization), marketing-driven web design, and SMM (social media marketing).
In November 2008 I made the 3-person shortlist for the Farm Freelancer of the Year award at the DiMAS (the Digital Media Awards South), a yearly event organised by Wired Sussex and designed to ‘… recognise and reward passion, creativity and business genius in the digital media sector in the south of England.’
The Farm award itself was ‘… judged by members of the Farm, the Brighton-based networking group for web designers, developers and people with related new media skills. They will be looking for examples of innovation, technical and creative skills, business success and the ability to establish successful client relationships and keep to brief.’ Although I didn’t win on the night, making the 3-person shortlist out of 150 entrants across the South of England was in itself pretty exciting and rewarding.
* Got married! June 19, 2008 in Antigua, West Indies. Great weather, great hotel & service, great time had by all.
My professional history
By day I’m an online marketer, managing and implementing various online strategies including pay-per-click, email marketing, online advertising, referral programs, affiliate programs, and web analytics. From 2003-2007 I worked at the Montreal-based ESP GOT Corporation, where I gained abundant knowledge of all things email marketing, and where I self-taught HTML and Photoshop.
I am currently living in the UK and working at Brighton-based Study Group as the UK E-Marketing Manager. More information on my professional life can be found on my Linkedin profile. More information on my semi-professional but daily life can be found on my Twitter page. Follow me at http://twitter.com/Aizlewood.

Site history
CarbonGraffiti is a web identity used to represent my knowledge of, and continual interest in, all things online-related. It is effectively my sandbox, used to self-promote, discuss online marketing-related topics, and get new business.
The site itself is about 4 years old, and has gone through 5 6 redesigns in that time. The version you are seeing now I’ve entitled ‘Chocolate Mint’ ‘Spectrasm’, chosen at the 11th hour as the winner over the similarly superbly-named ‘Neon Spectacle’. This site is fully powered by the infamous Wordpress, the best blogging engine out there.
